Consultant, King’s Honours and Business Awards, UK
Rachel Murray is a freelance writer, editor and consultant with a background in Psychology and Education. With a keen eye for detail, strong research skills, and a passion for communication, Rachel brings clarity and creativity to every project she undertakes.
After completing a degree in Psychology at the University of St Andrews, Rachel began her career as a writer and editor at CGP (Coordination Group Publications), where she developed high-quality educational resources used in schools across the UK and internationally. She later trained as a primary school teacher at the University of Cumbria and spent many rewarding years in the classroom before transitioning to freelance work.
As a freelancer, Rachel has worked with a diverse range of clients, primarily in the education sector, helping them to craft engaging, accessible content that informs and inspires. Her work is underpinned by empathy, curiosity and a deep understanding of how people learn and connect through words.
Rachel is currently training to become a person-centred counsellor, studying for a Masters in Counselling and Psychotherapy at the University of Cumbria. She volunteers as a student counsellor at a women’s centre, offering compassionate, non-judgemental support to those in need.
A dedicated community volunteer, Rachel also serves as treasurer of her children’s school PTA, where she organises fun, family events and leads fundraising efforts through successful grant applications. She lives in the Lake District with her family and their labrador, and can often be found walking in the hills, enjoying the outdoors and striving to live a balanced, wholehearted life.
